Pre-Service One OR Minimum Standards Refresher – 6-18-26

Champions for Children offers the 8 hour Pre-Service training required by Child Care Licensing for new employees.  Remind employees to be on time at 9 am.

Please choose only one ticket type.

  1. Pre-Service Training is $15 per person for new employees only  (within 90 days of their hire date).  If a hire date is not furnished, our records will show their hire date to be the Monday following the Pre-Service One class.
  2. Minimum Standards Refresher, $50 is for employees seeking annual training hours. Anyone with a hire date more than 90 days past needs to purchase tickets for Minimum Standards Refresher.

The topics covered are: Minimum Standards, Developmental stages of children, Age-appropriate activities for children, Positive Guidance and Discipline of Children, Fostering Children’s positive self-esteem, Supervision and Safety practices in the care of children, Positive Interaction with children, Preventing and controlling the spread of communicable diseases, including Immunizations.

Includes one hour of: Early Childhood Brain Development, Recognizing and preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma, Understanding and using safe sleep practices and preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Includes one hour of: Recognizing and Detecting Child Abuse/Neglect.

Compliance with Training Expectations

Champions for Children is committed to providing a professional and productive learning environment for all participants. Individuals who fail to comply with these training expectations may be asked to leave the training event.

Participants who are asked to leave due to inappropriate conduct, excessive disruption, failure to participate, inappropriate use of electronic devices, or failure to comply with the dress code will not receive training credit, a certificate of completion, attendance verification, a refund, or the opportunity to transfer registration fees to another training.

Champions for Children reserves the right to make final determinations regarding participant conduct and compliance with training expectations.

*Registration closes the day before the event at 3:00pm.  Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event if room is available.  Walk-ins  must pay cash or check the day of the event plus a $5.00 late fee.
